The new school year kicked off to a great start so far. I’m playing soccer, became a Cub Scout (despite mommy’s left-wing cries that the group is way too conservative in its views), and am playing a bit of fall baseball when I have time in my schedule (it can be awfully challenging changing from soccer to baseball gear in a moving vehcile, especially when a cup is involved).
Despite sacrificing most of her Saturdays to me, mommy has started running — she ran her first real race yesterday. A 6K trail run, in the rain. She was really dirty and wet when she came home. My kind of race.
On October 15, daddy, mommy and me are going to run in races at the Hartford Marathon. She and daddy are doing the 5K and I’m running the mile kid-run. I practiced yesterday by running around the house for 25 minutes straight.

Farewell Summer

Summer, part one

Summer is half over, but I’ve been able to pack loads of fun into the season so far. My journeys have taken me to oceans and lakes, on boats and (for the first time) water skis. There’s been plenty of fishing, some crab hunting and lots of late nights giggling with friends (and mommy).

Can’t wait to see what the second half of summer brings …

Hula Hoop

Who knew a skinny kid like me had hips that could move like this?

Maiden voyage

We set sail (figuratively speaking since we have no sail on our boat) on our boat for the first time this year. It was the perfect way to end a hot, muggy weekend.  We swam, we fished, mommy read and book with a cold beer. Good times all around.
